Exploring Finger Lakes New York During Covid-19

During April 2021, a few close friends of mine were determined to escape New York City while adhering to the Covid-19 restrictions and safety precautions. We found a lake house in Finger Lakes, NY that was perfect for our getaway. This 3-Bedroom 2 Bath for the 4 of us had all the accommodations we need to have a nice weekend.
The drive was further up into the updates, roughly a 5 hour drive from our location. Bear in mind during this drive, we experienced all seasons from the everchanging weather. However, traveling to a remote area makes you appreciate the nature and how it can look within a day.

We explored the Keuka Outlet Trail where abandoned mills and waterfalls were located. It was mostly a flat walkable hike that is friendly for both dogs and children. Because we started in the middle of the trail, we decided to separate the hikes into two days giving us even amounts of time of walking and enjoying the scenic views.
After a hike it was best to enjoy the rest of the day at our stay and utilize the amenities the Airbnb provided. We brought food from the city and had our own BBQ. We definitely required a hot tub during this stay and it did not disappoint us one bit.
The hot tub was perfectly placed where we had the lakefront and horizon as our view.
Aside from the house and great hiking trails surrounding the area, Finger Lakes, specifically in Dundee is known for their winery. We were able to see a different one every few minutes that we drove around. We visited the Villa Bellangelo and had a blast with their Wine Flights and the hospitality they provided. This is definitely a must go with a great selection of wine as well as price.

Taking advantage of the warmer day of the weekend we stayed, the Airbnb also had a rowboat and kayak with life vests. We couldn't give up the opportunity and was able to row along the Seneca Lake. I believe the summer would draw a bigger crowd, but during this time it was perfect just being the four of us.
It wasn't too long when we took advantage of the fire pit and brought our smores game with the classic graham cracker, chocolate and marshmallows. Unfortunately the view of the night sky and stars is something that you must come to see for yourself and any moments captured on our phone don't do it justice.

It wasn't too late after we wanted to enjoy the hot tub one last time.
After a good night's rest, we went into town to grab coffee and donuts and visit an antique store before we left Finger Lakes. We didn't get to go fishing, but that is also another great activity in this area.
It was a great week to enjoy between a small group of friends, where the town has a spirit of its own unlike any other. This is definitely an area I would highly recommend and would come back to revisit during the summer.

What a cozy trip! Hiking, hot tub, wineries, bbqs, and good company.
